The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit is a world famous motorsport venue with a rich international and national motorsport heritage.
The word Kyalami means 'my home' in Zulu, one of South Africa's 11 national languages.
Since it's opening in 1961 the circuit played host to numerous Grand Prix, Moto GP, World Superbike and 9 hour endurance events. Today the circuit hosts 10 National motorsport events with international events planned for 2009 and beyond. The internationally FIA graded circuit is in great demand, in addition to the national motorsport events other activities regularly taking place at Kyalami include; driver training and education schools, motorcycle and superbike training sessions, car club days, super-car days, product launches, vehicle testing and development, cycling activities and numerous events and exhibitions.
Kyalami is well on it's way to achieving it's dream of becoming a multi facetted entertainment facility. Interesting facts: - The circuit lies on a 72 ha site and measures 4,2km in length. - In a recent international survey Kyalami was voted one of the top ten South African 'names' associated with South Africa. The facility is managed by Track Manager, Denis Klopper and a dedicated team.
